Rumpelstiltskin. This is a story I wrote when I did a series of Head Starts in the Metro St. Louis area. “Who’s making all that racket!” She ran down to her local library and she took out every book on what to name your baby. And this time she wrote down every name she hadn’t written before.   My opinion is that if you ever wanted to try a set of Rumpelstiltskin pickups, I'd try one of his other sets since you already have an A3 Strat set to cover that type territory. I remember when roknfnrol got his Black Rope set, he said they were some of the best he ever played.

The king has locked Isabel in a tower and ordered her to spin straw into gold. Impossible! Then a mysterious man appears, offering to help. But what is his pric. Like many fairy tales, “Rumpelstiltskin” is a story that is without a character which we can define as pure or innocent. Rather, it’s a story of two obviously wicked characters in the form of the father who lies to and thus ends up getting his daughter in a lot of trouble with the king who is a greedy man who cares about nothing but the gold he can get out of the miller’s daughter.

While Rumpelstiltskin’s motivation interest me, I used my book to essentially shout what I believe Rumpelstiltskin’s true intent was (love) so instead I’m going to discuss the spinning process. As you know spinning straw into gold is an impossible task. However, it was ultra-impossible, because straw cannot be spun into anything.   Of making many books there is no end, and of making many fairy tales with alternate settings, characters, or perspectives there clearly is no end in sight. Vande Velde (Magic Can Be Murder, p. , etc.) extends this popular subgenre into the upper-elementary through junior-high level, with her collection of six short stories on a Rumpelstiltskin theme.

I loved the way Rumpelstiltskin was a part of this story. I don’t want to give anything away, but his character was a perfect touch to this fairy tale. The romance was sweet.
